Vihiga United's promotion dream has been reignited after securing a win over Palos FC in a National Super League match played at Moi Stadium Kisumu on Wednesday.
The visitors earned their goal from the spot after Patrick Okullo sent the Palos custodian the wrong way.
Vihiga's win now means that they move from fourth to second on the table standings whose main focus now are the occupants of the first two positions for promotion.
Ushuru FC sit on top of the table with 75 points from 35 outings while Vihiga have a point less, same as third placed Wazito who however have an inferior goal difference.
It will be interesting to watch Vihiga and Ushuru battle on the last day of the league as their match could determine who ascends and who remains in the lower tier.
Others in contention of promotion are Wazito FC and KCB.
