Starnley Okumbi will not part ways with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) after the federation decided to maintain him on the Harambee Stars technical bench.
In a communique from the federation, Okumbi will continue to serve as an assistant coach under new Belgian coach Paul Put who was unveiled on November 18.
"We lacked experience and that is why we rope the best coach in the continent. We had to improve our winning ratio. Okumbi will continue with Stars as the first assistant and Kamau will be the second assistant," said FKF.
Put was handed a two-year contract.
This will be his third national team duty after being in-charge of Gambia, Jordan and Burkina Faso.
He will be remembered for steering the Bukina Faso team to the AFCON 2015 finals.
