A 58-year-old man was on Wednesday arraigned before a Kiambu court for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl in Riabai, Kiambu County.
John Chege appeared before Principal magistrate Diana Mochache for defiling the form two girl on the April 17, 2015.
Chege allegedly met the girl on the road as she went home from school at around 5 pm. He pretended to know her mum claiming that he wanted to send her with a message to her.
He then asked the girl to follow him to his house nearby where he was to give her the parcel.
On reaching the house, the court was told that Chege defiled the girl before threatening to kill her if she told anyone about it.
The girl went home in tears at around 6:30 pm and reported to her mother. The matter was reported at Kiambu Police Station.
Investigation was launched and Chege arrested in Kirigiti while trying to escape.The girl was taken to Kiambu District Hospital where she was treated and a P3 form issued.
Dr. Martin Njun’ge, a doctor at the hospital, gave evidence in court confirming that the girl was defiled and contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
The case was adjourned until May 22.
