Nairobi County Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has announced the immediate plans to have its water meters be replaced.
The meters what were last installed and repaired close to ten years ago will now be upgraded with new and improved versions.
According to Philip Gichuki who is the NCWSC managing director, the upgrade and repairs will ensure water users and other customers within the city get very accurate bills, and at the same time reducing unaccounted-for water availed at various points in the water lines.
Gichuki cautioned the public from being exploited by rogue persons who would get to them posing as NCWSC officials, noting that the exercise will only be carried out by its staff.
Water consumers have, therefore, been urged to cooperate with City Hall workers to make the process smooth.
Most of the areas that will feature the exercise include Lang'ata, Kibera, Embakasi, and Mathare.
