Former Presidential candidate Prof. James Ole Kiyapi has called on Kenyans to rise above their party affiliation to save the nation and shun their blind allegiance to the Jubilee or NASA ideologies.
While speaking in Nairobi, Prof. James Ole Kiyapi appealed for a cessation of hostilities between NASA and Jubilee Party supporters.
He appealed to President Uhuru and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to come to the negotiating table, not necessarily for a 'nusu mkate' arrangement, but to keep the country together.
"It is not about Uhuru or Raila; It is a Kenyan burden we must all carry," the Professor added.
He appealed to Raila Odinga to humble himself and come to the negotiating table.
Prof. Ole Kiyapi appeared to blame the common people calling them "unreasonable" in their persistent push of the two leaders to a widening rift and division.
"We must carry one another as a nation," the don added.
His words come at a time when there is rift in the nation following Judge Maraga's decision to uphold the win of President Kenyatta following petitions challenging his re-election.
