The former interior cabinet secretary, Joseph ole Lenku has shown his interest in running for a gubernatorial chair next year.
Lenku served as a cabinet secretary for a short term before stepping down following pressure from the public and some members of parliament.
He revealed his intentiona on Saturday where he stated he was ready and urged people to support him by voting him governor come next year.
Lenku said he will run for the seat in Kajiado County under the Jubilee party. He said he is well educated and, therefore, he will be a good leader if elected. He also said that being from Kajiado County, he knows very well the resident’s problems and is willing to solve them when he is elected.
This has not been well received form Masaai’s leaving in Kibera. The Masaai in Kibera come from Kajiado County while some are from north Eastern. Those from Kajiado said although the area is a Jubilee strong hold, they don’t think Lenku can be elected by many people.
‘‘I don’t think people will vote for him because he was unable to carry out the other governmental duties. By this, he could have lost people’s trust,’’ said Victor ole Ntulema.
