Just a day into the much coveted religious office, the Anglican Church of Kenya archbishop elect, Jackson Ole Sapit has firmly indicated that gay practices and lesbianism shall never be condoned in the church.
The bishop said the doctrines in the Bible do not recognise same-sex relations, noting that he will use his new position to encourage the youth to shun the immoral act.
Speaking to a congregation in St Luke's Church on Saturday, Ole Sapit said that despite the fact that a section of the Anglican Church shows approval on the same, lesbians and gays are not acknowledged anywhere in the Bible, explaining that intimate relationships are built on virtues rather than vices.
“Family and marriage is purely between a man and a woman, a husband and wife. Relationships existing between people of the same gender are not in the teachings of the Holy Bible. We shall never allow that in the present day Anglican Church,” said Ole Sapit.
The new archbishop was elected on Friday, where he trounced five other religious faithful to emerge the immediate succour of Wabukala.
