The deputy president is among the faithful attending the consecration of the Anglican Church of Kenya in Kipkaren, Uasin Gishu county.
Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit is currently presiding the consecration service at the church.
The archbishop has called on the hopefuls to be responsible for the developing of the country and stop waiting for help all the time. He asked them to make sure they watch their health by registering with National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).
"Are we waiting for sickness it's when we can organise for fundraisers? We can talk to NHIF officials so that they would be coming here on Sundays and register ourselves and immediately start paying the funds," advised Mr. Sapit.
The religious leader has also advised the hopefuls to observe the conservation of the environment through planting trees as had asked by the government. Further, he encouraged the followers to take advantage of the government's Rural Electrification Program to create employment in the rural areas.
"Yesterday the government said that we plant trees this time of the rainy season, what then are we waiting for? If every Christian planted a tree what would happen to our environment? So make sure each of us plants 10 trees this rainy season," he said.
"Right now electricity is everywhere, what are the young men doing? We can open up business and create employment in rural areas,'" advised the archbishop.
