Speaking at ACK St. Barnabas Kipenyo primary school in Eldoret town on Friday, Ole Sapit said the strike may lead to many negative effects to university students.

He reiterated the need for a quick solution to be reached so that normal learning resumes at the universities.

"I want to urge the unions and government to be able to come terms and let them all put the interest of Kenyans before their our own interests be it union officials or those representing the ministry of Education so that we look after the welfare of the children," said the ACK leader.

There is need for all the parties to engage in constructive dialogue that will enable the union and government come to an amicable solution because we need our children back in school and we all want them to finish in time," he added.

Lecturers and other university non-academic staff have been on strike for about a month demanding for the tabling, negotiation and implementation of a counter offer from the government over the 2017-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
