Nakuru branch ODM Chairman Peter Ole Sono has this morning been arrested by Police following a last week incidence where he shot at journalists and protestors in Olnjorai, Nakuru. Gilgil CID boss Joseph Owiti has confirmed the arrest saying that Sono will be locked at Naivasha Police Station where he will be grilled further over the incidence before being charged in court.
"Nobody is above the law and I can confirm that Peter Ole Sono has now been arrested and we will be questioning him further before presenting him to court", Owiti told journalists at his office this morning. The news of his arrest comes hot on the heels of a demonstration staged by Gilgil residents who stormed Gilgil Police Station yesterday to demand the immediate arrest of the politician.
However, questions have emerged over the reluctance of the Police to arrest the politician even after he presented himself at the police station the day after the shooting drama to record statement. His gun has since been withdrawn and investigations are still on according to Owiti.
