Addressing youths at Olkaria town on Friday, the MCA expressed concerns saying that many youths in the area have not applied for funds.

He said that it is unfortunate that young people in the area have not seen the need of applying for State funds.

“It is worrying and disheartening that many of our youths have not applied for the government money,” he said.

Palang’a noted that unemployment will remain an issue until when young people will take advantage of the opportunities being provided.

He said that the government has initiated various measures to curb unemployment, and that young people must be on the frontline in order to benefit.

The MCA further urged the youths to partner with their leaders and spearhead development projects.

He said that leaders in the Ward have developed a development plan, which young people should support.

The MCA asked the county and the national government to create more opportunities for the young people who he said are critical in socio-economic development.
