Cabinet Secretary for the ministry of Devolution Mwangi Kiunjuri has rubbished claims by former TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo that he has a dossier on Jubilee Party, saying he was on the run from corruption allegations against him.
Kiunjuri did not give much details on the issue, but said investigations into Oloo’s corruptive activities had been completed, and he could face prosecution from as early as next week.
Kiunjuri further claims that Oloo has taken refuge in the opposition to protect himself against these allegations.
“I want to remind Kenyans that in most cases when politicians are under siege, they try to run away, and they always try to run back home, to the villages for community protection,” said Kiunjuri.
“I want to remind Oloo that he has forgotten one file, a secret file that I hold for him and the reason why he is running away and he can run but won’t hide,” added Kiunjuri.
“He should be reminded that his last work station falls under my ministry. He knows the mess he created, he knows that we are closing the files and the noose is tightening, he knows for sure that after the investigations, he might be a candidate, he might belong to jail,” he added.
Oloo decamped the ruling Jubilee Coalition on Wednesday and moved to ODM, citing frustrations in the newly formed alliance by President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
He accused the two of shortchanging him, further saying he will reveal secrets on the operations of the ruling coalition.
It remains to be seen what Oloo will present against the party he once led from the front, with his move seen by many as going back home with an intention of vying for a political seat.
