Former TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo has sensationally dismissed claims that he plans to force himself on the people of Kisumu Central by seeking direct ODM nomination.
Oloo defected to Orange Democratic Movement earlier on Wednesday and was subsequently received by party leader Raila Odinga in Kisumu.
He is expected to tussle for ODM nominations with Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura, who has had strained relationship with top party leadership over his close ties with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“I am not imposing myself on the people of Kisumu. My decision to ditch Jubilee has nothing to do with an ODM ticket in Kisumu Central,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
“I am ready to be subjected to competition and people will make their choice which should be respected. As a person, I believe in democracy all the time,” he added.
Despite having played a key role in President Kenyatta’s 2013 victory, Oloo was left out in the new arrangement of the Jubilee Party.
