Online advertising site OLX has said customers will now be able to place ads without having to literally post them, in a move that seems to target large business organisations.

The site will offer alternative banner adverts strategically placed on the site for large business firms at a cost of Sh100,000 per month.

In an interview with the Business Daily, OLX Country Manager Peter Ndiang’ui said that the company will be able to make use of the large traffic that gets to the site every month to look for products and services.

“OLX is a high traffic site with over 2 million visitors every month and a great place for these organisations given the number of visitors on a monthly basis,” said Ndiang’ui as quoted by daily.

“All who visit our site already have intent to purchase and these ads will be strategically placed to target these specific users at their point of purchase,” he added.

The companies will have a choice of where they want their adverts to be placed depending on the products and services they are offering.

“This then allows the businesses to select targeted audiences whom they wish to have them see these adverts. For instance, if you are a business seeking to offer loans to car buyers, the vehicle category will be best suited for you,” he added.
