The Olympic Primary School in Kibera seems to have changed face ever since the area MP, Ken Okoth took charge.
Being the largest public primary school in Kibera and the entire country, the school has a total number of over 4,000 pupils. It is also known to prosper in academics as it emerged number one in the 2015 Kibera education day.
The school scooped different prices for leading in different subjects and emerging the overall winner among more than 20 schools in the slums.
With all these in mind, the area MP decided to purchase 300 new desks for the school. The move by Okoth has also been seen as a boost to his campaign of Elimu Kwanza, Education First.
After the purchase, he took on his official Facebook account to break the news ‘‘Si bora elimu ni elimu bora,’’ read the post.
This attracted some comments from the public.
A few weeks ago, the MP purchased some laptops for the school. He also boasts of having produced the highest number of pupils who sat for KCPE last year. Olympic primary had 420 pupils who sat for their KCPE last year.
