Kibra MP Ken Okoth on Monday afternoon attended a special lunch treat with teachers of Olympic Primary School in Kibera.
The move was meant to celebrate the good results produced during last year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education.
Okoth took to social media -Facebook and twitter- to post a photo which he had taken with the staff at Olympic Primary.
The MP is happy since Olympic Primary is said to be the first government school that had the largest number of candidates in the country.
This shows how children from the slum have a thirst for education.
"The lunch treat for staff of Olympic Primary Kibera, largest government school Kenya had 420 candidates in 2015,’’ said Okoth on his twitter account.
The top candidate in the school scored 415 marks out of the possible 500 marks.
Olympic also scooped prices for being the best public school in Kibera in 2014.
On the other hand, Okoth has been known as the first supporter of education for children in the slums.
This has seen him start a campaign dubbed Elimu Kwanza or Education First, which has been well received by head teachers in Kibera.
