Defense Cabinet Secretary Rachylle Omamo could be sacrificed for former Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju should Supreme Court uphold Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory.
In his second term, Uhuru could crack a whip on a number of senior government officials as he reconstitutes his administration.
And political pundit Dismas Mokua says Tuju, who played a key role as Jubilee’s Secretary General during elections could be a beneficiary.
“We should be aware that a number of ministers will be axed in favour of new faces. This will happen because Uhuru may want to bring a few of his friend,” he says.
He further says: “Omamo could be sacrificed to Tuju since they hail from the same region. Tuju also worked hard for Jubilee’s victory and I am certain about it.”
Also tipped to join government as ministers are Ken Lusaka, the immediate outgoing Bungoma governor and Ababu Namwamba.
According to the constitution, the president can only appoint people not exceeding 22 to his cabinet unlike in the old constitution where such limits did not exist.
