Former Nyamira County leader of majority has asked ODM national executive to dismiss party chairman John Mbadi over mishandling party affairs.
Speaking at Kebirigo market on Thursday, Beautah Omanga said the party was losing significant support in its strongholds due to constant threats and ‘arrogance’ by Mbadi.
The Bogichora MCA said the party executive should move in with speed to save the dwindling image at its strongholds by sacking Mbadi and replacing him with a visionary person who can exercise restraint when handling critical party issues.
“I would like to call upon NEC to dismiss one Mr Mbadi since ever assuming office he has been so arrogant when handling party affairs. He has reintroduced non-democratic means of handling affairs like what we used to see during the times of Okiki Amayo of Kanu,” he said.
“He (Mbadi) should learn to use moderate means in dealing with affairs concerning party members and I am convinced that he has failed and that is why he should be replaced urgently,” he added.
Mr Omanga criticised the slow start of current officials besides blaming Nyanza ODM legislators on the current woes the party’s secretary general Ababu Namwamba is facing.
“They (officials) have started slowly. Our Nyanza MPs are also making our party lose because they are fighting to succeed Jakom (Raila Odinga) and Namwamba is perceived as a threat to them,” he added.
Mbadi has recently recalled perceived ODM rebel MPs mostly from South Nyanza region to the disciplinary committee, particularly Millie Odhiambo and Silvanus Osele due to their questionable allegiance to the party.
