Nominated senator Millicent Omanga has congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta following the recent appointments.

This is after the president made appointments to boards of various government parastatals.

Through a post on her Facebook page, she congratulated the president and the new appointees.

“I want to congratulate all those who have been appointed as chairpersons to various boards and thank the president for the timely appointments,” Noted the Nominated Senator.

The vocal senator noted that with the chairpersons to the boards in place the parastatals will operate efficiently.

“With substantive chairpersons to the boards now firmly in place the parastatals will now operate effectively and deliver services to Kenyans,” she noted.

She added that the move will help speed the Big Four agenda that the president wanted to implement as part of his legacy.

Omanga however presented that there is public outrage that young people were left out in the appointments.

She said that the appointments fell short of the two-third gender rule as required by the law.

“It is my hope that the H.E President will consider youth and women in his future appointments to help drive the Big Four agenda. More youth and women on the decision-making table means increased innovative ideas, robustness and speed of implementation driven by the desire to achieve,” she stated.
