Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has criticized the Jubilee government for leaving 99 mobile clinics lying at the National Youth Service (NYS) yard in Miritini, Mombasa, for over six months.
Speaking on Sunday during an interview on NTV, the Mombasa legislator questioned the motive of purchasing the expensive clinics and leaving them lying without being put to use, terming it as a wastage.
"Wastage is a form of corruption, if you take mobile clinics and put them in a yard for over a year and say you are working on them, someone must be punished for wastage," said Omar.
Omar's sentiments was supported by Seme MP James Nyikal, who questioned why the clinics were bought before making proper plans on their usage.
"You can't have them there for months without deciding what to do with them," he said.
"What is the hurry to purchase the clinics before proper arrangements on their usage are made?" he asked.
