Wiper party secretary general and Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar will not unseat Governor Ali Hassan Joho in the next general election even if all other aspirants decided to drop their gubernatorial bid to support him.

It is easier for a camel to pass through a needle’s hole than for Omar becoming the next Mombasa County governor.

Joho has done a lot for the people of Mombasa. To start with, the outspoken governor has overseen the construction of major roads in different parts of the county including Nyali constituency where one of his closest political opponents, MP Hezron Awiti hails from.

I wonder why Senator Omar still has hopes of clinching the seat when Joho has ensured that there is easy access to markets as well as other services in the county since he took over power.

The governor has also been working with different groups to fight terror attacks in the region in a bid to boost tourism.

I will not hesitate to mention the renovations undertaken that Coast General Hospital as the county looks forward to offering better health care services to residents.

The county government has also worked in partnership with Aga Khan Foundation to improve Early Childhood Education (ECDE).

Free fistula medical camp and school milk program are among the things that have made many residents fall in love with the flamboyant governor even more.

His role in the Orange Democratic Movement will also boost his fight to retain the seat.
