Mombasa governor hopeful Senator Hassan Omar has expressed confidence he will clinch the seat in Tuesday’s elections.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday at his office in Renaissance Centre, Omar said he is the right man for the job.He accused the incumbent, Governor Hassan Joho, of having a poor track record and failing to deliver the services that residents require.Omar further said he was grateful that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga failed to endorse Governor Joho during an opposition rally that was held at Mombasa’s Mama Ngina grounds on Friday, last week.“I am sure that come Tuesday the people of Mombasa will make their right choice. I am glad that Raila Odinga did not publicly endorse Joho at the NASA rally and left the people to decide,” he said. The outspoken Senator urged residents to reject Joho and instead rally behind him in a bid to reclaim the county’s lost glory.“Mombasa county residents have to change their perception on how they want the county to be governed. There is so much incompetence with the current administration and as the next governor of this county, we need to reclaim it and take it back to its original place,” he added.
