Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has dismissed President Uhuru Kenyatta's speech during the State of the Nation Address in parliament on Wednesday.
The Senator said Uhuru failed to address basic things that affect the lives of ordinary citizens.Omar said though he agreed with the President's plea to Parliament to adopt the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) report that recommends pay cuts for elected leaders in a bid to contain the country's skyrocketing wage bill, he is still concerned with how the move will affect poor Kenyans.Omar who is gunning for the Mombasa Governor position accused the President of intentionally avoiding to mention the country's rising inflation rate which he says is a real issue that Kenyans are concerned with.On the issue of the 7,500 km road which the President highlighted as part of his administration's achievement, the Wiper Secretary General challenged the Head of State to show where the said roads have been constructed.Omar further challenged the President to withdraw the KDF troops from the troubled Somalia to prevent losing more Kenyan soldiers.
