Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan has disagreed with Mombasa Governor and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi on their sentiments that DP William Ruto has no right to lecture anybody on matters corruption.
Speaking on KTN's morning edition show, Omar said being accused that you are corrupt does not disqualify one from speaking about corruption.
"There is this issue I have heard my colleagues saying that William Ruto has no moral authority to talk about corruption. If I am a drunkard it does not mean that I can't urge others not to drink," he said.
"It is therefore totally out of line for anybody to believe that any political leader cannot respond to any matters of corruption," he added.
Omar on the other hand also urged the DP to face the corruption facing the Jubilee administration with the same strength he has faced the Sh51 million Kilifi County scandal.
"But I only hope as they are making response to the Kilifi corruption scandal, they are also dealing with corruption at the Jubilee government," he said.
This comes after claims emerged that more than Sh1.18 billion was stolen from Kilifi county and the DP has asked Kingi to take responsibility for the loss.
