Wiper Secretary General Omar Hassan, also Mombasa Senator has insisted that leaders of the Former vice president Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka-led party have no intentions to bolt out of the alliance before the forthcoming general polls.

Omar, who was responding to National Assembly Minority leader Francis Nyenze remarks, said that leaders in the alliance have a right to express their divergent opinions over different issues, adding that this should not be taken as discord.

“One or two divergent opinions that are not satisfied with a decision is not evidence of cracks. It is often evidence of democracy," Omar said.

The senator, who is contesting for Mombasa governorship seat added: “Divergence is not division. Divergence is actually a healthy evidence of democracy.”

Omar, who was speaking to the press from the Renaissance Centre in Mombasa on Sunday, also said that Cord leader Raila Amolo Odinga will deliver the seat to the opposition because he has what it takes to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in August after he was named flag bearer.

Nyenze had said: "In my own opinion, the Kamba nation got a raw deal and we do not want anybody to take Kamba's for a ride."

Omar has, however, insisted that Nyenze is entitled to speak out his mind, adding that it does not translate to division. “Show me absolute unity and I will show you an absolute dictator. Where there is absolute, you realise that there is an absolute dictator,” he said.
