Photo/ nairobinews.nation.co.keMombasa Senator Hassan Omar has faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta for re-opening the debate on the 2007/2008 post election chaos.Omar said the move is likely to create anxiety and tension among Kenyans as the country heads to the August 8 general election.The senator said the country should be allowed to heal from the escapades of the 2007/2008 post poll skirmishes, adding that careless comments on the events that led to the chaos will be disastrous for the country.Speaking to journalists in Mombasa on Wednesday, Omar said Uhuru’s move to re-open the scars will hurt families and victims of the skirmishes who are still healing.“Politicians must stop commenting on the 2007/2008 post poll skirmishes and allow the country to heal,” said Omar.The Mombasa Senator warned that political temperatures’ are likely to rise following Uhuru’s claims that ODM leader Raila Odinga ignited the chaos.The senator asked politicians to tone down and unite the country.During a rally in Kisii on Wednesday, President Kenyatta accused ODM Party leader Raila of allegedly fanning the 2007/2008 post poll chaos.Uhuru claimed that Raila ignited the violence by leading a tribal campaign against Kikuyus.Raila hit back at Uhuru’s claims saying the President is desperate for votes.The ODM leader went on to claim that people who orchestrated the chaos are dinning and winning with President Kenyatta.Over 1300 Kenyans lost their lives in the 2007/2008 post election skirmishes with property worth millions being destroyed.The chaos also led to mass displacement of people.
