Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho is set to appear before the Senate to shed more light on audit reports raised by the Auditor General.
According to nation.co.ke, Senator Hassan Omar is upbeat the governor would present himself this time round.
“The other time after he was summoned to appear before the Senate he said he was engaged in burials of anti-IEBC victims who died in the protests. I hope and believe this time round he will present himself,” said Omar.
He was addressing journalists on the sidelines of iftar on Saturday evening.
The Senate has made it clear that it will sue governors who don't honour summons as they would be going against a High Court ruling that compelled them to appear before all House committees.
