Jomvu MP aspirant Mathias Shipeta has said Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar is the right man to take over the leadership of the county in August. The aspirant lauded Omar’s performance scoreboard saying he has what it takes to transform the county after the incumbent, Governor Hassan Joho, vacates office.“The senator is the best candidate the county can have,” said Shipeta, as quoted by The Star. The aspirant's remarks come after the Kalonzo Musyoka-led Wiper Party handed Omar, a direct nomination ticket to battle it out with Joho in the August 8 elections. On his part, Omar has exuded confidence in clinching the seat, and urged the electorate to rally behind the opposition's NASA coalition and vote out Jubilee.“The journey to liberate our nation and revive the Kenyan dream beckons,” wrote Omar in a Facebook post.He also called upon Kenyans to join hands in order to bring change in the country.“With our economy in turmoil and the cost of living beyond the reach of millions of Kenyans, we must endeavour to ensure we pull together as one nation and one people,” he added.
