Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has dismissed claims that he has quit the county governorship race.

Instead, Omar wrote on his official twitter account that he is firmly in the race to replace the incumbent, Governor Hassan Joho.

“You realise that you are winning when your adversaries withdraw u from the race. Does Hassan Omar speak in silence,” wrote Omar on his twitter account on Thursday.

He asked people to steer clear of propaganda and always confirm before spreading false messages.

Others in the race are Nyali MP Hezron Awiti, businessman Suleiman Shahbal.
