Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan has continued to defend his party leader's ability to clinch the presidency in Cord, or the yet to be formed 'Super Alliance'.
Speaking on a KTN TV, Omar said that records place Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka above ANC's Musalia Mudavadi, who might join Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) to form a stronger alliance.
This union will increase power sharing technicalities in the opposition. Omar said that the Ukambani pointman is assured of over 1 million votes from Ukambani, as opposed to Mudavadi's half a million.
Omar was responding to the Super Alliance proposal by several opposition stakeholders. The call for a united opposition that can defeat Jubilee has mounted more pressure on ODM, WIPER and FORD Kenya, who all want their party leaders to be flag bearers to face Uhuruto.
The puzzle of picking whoever will face Jubilee's Uhuru Kenyatta has been complicated by the possibility of Mudavadi joining the opposition coalition.
Musalia's arrival threatens Musyoka's and Wetangula's positions, which has forced the two to oppose appointment of someone who has never stomached government's teargas.
They believe Musalia is an opportunist who has come during the last minute, and Omar says Musyoka is the best option for any coalition that will face Kenyatta.
