Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has his out a opposition leaders for failing to be vocal in condemning corruption scandals in opposition-led counties.

Speaking during an interview on KTN's Morning Express Show, Omar said only him and two or three other leaders are opposed to the outright looting of public funds by opposition governors.

"When we are talking about corruption as opposition, we should not only condemn the vise at the national level, but also at the county where there is a lot of corrupt activities, wastage and favoritism," he said.

"I think it is only a few other leaders and me who openly talk about corruption in opposition-led counties," he added.

Omar, who has expressed interest in the Mombasa gubernatorial seat, also expressed his frustration with the Senate, saying the House is sanitizing corrupt leaders and letting them get away with their misdeeds.

He vowed to continue fighting for the rights of Mombasa residents event if it meant being labeled a 'Jubilee mole'.

"They question why I don't take the issues to the Senate, but when I present them before the House, they are always sanitized and that is why I usually air them through the media are go to the relevant investigative bodies," he said.

"If fighting for the rights of the people of Mombasa is what warrants me being referred to as a Jubilee mole, then let it be. I will continue raising these issues," he added.
