Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has said the National Supper Alliance (NASA) will punish Governor Hassan Joho for allegedly forging his KSCE certificate once it is elected into office come August.

Addressing journalists on Thursday in Mombasa, Omar said NASA will not tolerate any form of impunity by any person.

“I wish to give you my personal assurance and commitment that the NASA government will punish impunity. All alleged travesties by Governor Joho and more particularly the forgery of his KCSE certificate to illegally gain entry into the university will be punished in the early days of NASA’s administration. The facts are glaring and NASA will not condone impunity by any person no matter his station in life or status in society,” said Omar.

The outspoken senator further warned the Jubilee government against interfering with the county politics, adding that the administration should desist from harassing Joho.

Omar said the county's residents should be allowed to elect leaders of their choice.

“Jubilee’s obsession with Governor Hassan Ali Joho has or is providing fodder to divert the conversation of the county and its politics from real hardcore developmental conversations to an emotive one. Now as a candidate in the race for Mombasa governor it is necessary to compartmentalise or isolate the different narratives to ensure the residents of Mombasa make an objective and critical choice,” he added.

He further pocked holes into Joho's development record and accused him of doing little to better the lives of residents.

“Let Governor Joho be on the ballot and let the residents of Mombasa have an issue-based performance-oriented political season. On emotions without sound rationale, Joho probably wins. On an issue-oriented and performance campaign, Joho crushes menacingly,” said Omar.He expressed confidence in unseating Joho in August, adding that he has a laid down procedure that will send him parking.
