Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has accused the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) of failing the county's residents.

The Wiper Party secretary general said ODM leaders including Governor Hassan Joho have done little for Mombasa residents.

Omar blamed the lack of development in the county on party loyalty, arguing that a Wiper candidate is better placed to correct the mistakes made by the current leadership.

“You as well as everybody else know that for sure ODM has failed on all its promises. There are huge holes in service delivery and therefore, a Wiper candidate would be the peoples’ best solution,” said Omar, as quoted by Nation.

“ODM received 100 per cent support from Mombasa people. They got all the seats from the governor to MCAs and county administrator, but what do they have to show?” he asked.

The outspoken senator further dismissed the Jubilee party's efforts to clinch the gubernatorial seat in the county.

“Jubilee doesn’t stand a chance in Mombasa. They do not understand the dynamics of Mombasa politics,” he said.
