Mombasa senator Hassan Omar has hit out at Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya over the chaos that marred Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula's presidential bid launch in Muliro Gardens Saturday.
Speaking on a breakfast show on Radio Citizen Thursday, Omar said Oparanya's selfishness was a threat to Cord unity since he could have been behind the chaos in a bid to consolidate his support.
He added that just like any Kenyan, Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale has a right to contest for the gubernatorial position and should not be frustrated.
The former Kenya National Human Rights chair, however, downplayed disunity in the opposition coalition saying it was intact.
In the Saturday incident, scores were injured after unknown people hurled teargas canisters at the crowd which turned out to listen to Wetangula's presidential bid message.
