Omar Shallo will officially fly the Jubilee Party flag in the race for Mvita parliamentary seat according to the records at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) website.

This brings to an end the uncertainty that has clouded the party's choice of the candidate in the race for the seat currently held by ODM's Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir.

Shallo who had trounced his main rival Mohamed Tenge in the nominations had been denied the party nomination certificate a fortnight ago, something that rocked the Jubilee camp in Mombasa as he threatened to ditch the party.

The politician's candidature was further confirmed on Monday when he accompanied gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal in his tour of Mvita constituency where the party enjoys significant following.

While exuding confidence to wrestle the seat from Abdulswamad, Shallo claimed that the incumbent's leadership has done little to better the lives of the residents.

On his part, Shahbal who will face Governor Hassan Joho in August promised to create an enabling business environment by reducing business licenses fees for the traders if elected.
