Mombasa County Senator and Wiper Democratic Movement Party Secretary General Hassan Omar is in a state of advanced denial about him loosing the governor’s seat in the August polls.
His refusal to adopt realism in analysing the problems people of Mombasa go through and sort the mess out instead of constantly attacking Mombasa governor Joho is wanting.
Omar denial in the face of overwhelming evidence according to the latest poll released by TIFA showing him trailing with 6 per cent is going to do him incalculable harm to his political career that could see him stay out of active politics for five years.
While speaking during the launch of aspirant Daniel Muange’s Changamwe MP bid at the Akamba Handicraft, he referred to Joho as a “D- Man”.
“You are shifting the conversation of Mombasa County. We want that man with D- on the ballot. The guy is beatable. He has done nothing for the people of Mombasa,” Omar Said.
The solution of sorting out the issues and mess in Mombasa county, according to Omar, is for him to attack Joho in every available opportunity. Instead, the learned Omar should better explain what he has done to the people as the Senator for Mombasa County.
But let’s be true to and honest about this. He claimed that Mombasa County was rooted in corruption, Mombasa County is dirty because there are litters everywhere. I think the best and good approach was to work together with the governor for the best interest of the people of Mombasa.
During his press briefing on the state of Mombasa County, his approach as senator is to attack and criticise Joho as a failed leader is uncalled for.
The politician rarely recognizes what the County government of Mombasa has done under the leadership of Joho.
Like any other County, Mombasa is buckling under corruption and other vices you may think of. In such a context, one would expect him so fond of fighting Joho establish a watchdog and report any form of corruption to the relevant authorities for justice to take its cause. He should be on the for front to promote transparency and accountability.
The solution is not to attack but to work together for better Mombasa tomorrow.
If Omar wants to maintain a good and cordial relation, he must relinquish his ideology of attacking the governor of Mombasa and have respect for the governor. Mombasa will be governed by the consent of the people.
Omar you have your job to keep and we know re-election is important to you, so defend your seat or lose it.
