Mombasa Senatorial hopeful Khamis Mwaguya has stated that he is the right person to take over from Hassan Omar position during the August polls.
Mwaguya who was addressing Kisauni residents on Friday the County has had a Senator who was over ambitions to become the county Governor and completely forgot to accomplish his roles as the Mombasa senator.
He said that despite Omar bragging in public forums that he is learned and would execute his mandate satisfactorily, he has completely failed in working towards solving Mombasa pertinent issues and could not be trusted anymore by locals in the County.
Mwaguya who has been the longest serving Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s advisor said that he stepped in the political arena following Omar’s failure and vowed to make things right.
“I will not brag as how my friend has been doing but I am the ideal person to sit in the Mombasa County’s senatorial sit” added Mr. Mwaguya.
Mwaguya who has served in the Joho government as County secretary before becoming the chief of staff and later resigned.
“I have worked for him as the County secretary, Economic advisor, Chief of staff and even the Trade executive member but resigned since I wanted to pursue my political career” noted Mr. Mwaguya.
He has promised locals in Kisauni that the Mombasa economic status is slated for a major change if he is elected as the County Senator.
“Together with the Mombasa governor, we will fight for allocation of more resources from the central government so that we can uplift the economic status of our County” Mwaguya assured Kisauni locals.
He however sent an appeal to the locals to ensure that they vote wisely and shun violence so that they get the leadership they are yearning for.
