Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has slammed a section of NASA Coast politicians threatening to push for secession.Speaking in Mombasa on Saturday, Omar said those threatening to secede are enemies of the country's unity.Omar said that secession talks should not be entertained and those advocating for it must be investigated.The Mombasa politician said Kenya is a unitary state and any calls for secession are malicious and suspicious.The former Wiper Party secretary general asked Coast residents and Kenyans at large to shun politicians advocating for secession."Secession is not and will never be an option and those advocating for it should be investigated because they have a hidden agenda," said Omar.The former senator accused a section of politicians allied to the opposition of being determined to cause disunity among Kenyans.He said opposition leaders are hungry for power and are allegedly using all manner of dirty tricks to get it.Omar, who recently joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party urged Kenyans to remain peaceful before, during and after the Thursday repeat presidential poll.Omar said the interests of Kenyans are much bigger than those being pushed by the opposition.A section of NASA Coast politicians led by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has threatened to push for secession if IEBC fails to cancel the repeat presidential election.
