Kenya will not hold any other presidential election until 2022, former Mombasa Senator and human rights activist Hassan Omar has said.Omar on Saturday told opposition chief Raila Odinga that the repeat election was over and it was time for Kenyans to return to work and build the nation.“We will not have any other election in the near future,” Omar said at a press conference in Mombasa on Saturday. "The next presidential election we will have will be in 2022.”On Friday last week, opposition leader Raila Odinga in an interview with CNN said, without elaborating, that Kenya will hold another presidential election in 90 days.Raila said NASA had suggested talking to President Uhuru Kenyatta before the repeat polls and Jubilee leaders rejected.“Instead, they are saying that we are looking for half-a-loaf; in other words, we were begging for inclusion in their government. We said no, we really want to agree on the ground rules for these elections. And they refused to talk to us. We have always said that we’re always ready for dialogue,” he said.“But right now we’re saying what we’re ready to talk about is how another proper election can be held within the next 90 days. That is the only thing that we are ready to talk about,” added Raila.Omar, however, said Kenya would not be subjected to election mood year-in-year-out.“There is no law that says after a repeat election has been held, another election is held after 90 days. Kenyans must return to work and build their country,” he said.
