Wiper Party Secretary General Hassan Omar has dismissed claims that the party intends to ditch the National Super Alliance (NASA) if Kalonzo Musyoka is not named the coalition's flag bearer.Omar's statement came just hours after National Assembly Minority leader Francis Nyenze who is also a key ally of Kalonzo gave the other three coalition partners a 7-day ultimatum to name the former Vice President as the flag bearer, failure to which Wiper will ditch the alliance that is keen to unseat Jubilee.According to Omar, Wiper will not leave NASA irrespective of the choice of Presidential candidate."Wiper is further conscious of its obligation to this nation and its posterity to bring to an end Jubilee misrule. Wiper believes that this can only happen through a broad opposition front to face Jubilee during the August 8 general election. Conscious of this fact, Wiper will support any decision as to who becomes the flag bearer,” said Omar.According to analysts, despite the show of unity that the NASA principals display in public, the bulldozing of Kalonzo's candidature by his party may handicap their quest to unseat the incumbent, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
