Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has laughed off NASA leader Raila Odinga's threat of swearing himself in as president.Omar said Raila's remarks are an empty threat and a ploy to seek President Uhuru Kenyatta's attention.Speaking to journalists in Mombasa Town on Wednesday, Omar said Raila cannot swear himself in as president since he does not have the constitutional powers to do so.The former Wiper Party secretary general said the opposition leader is in a political dilemma as he has to choose between quitting active politics and continuing losing in elections."Raila Odinga knows that he has no powers to swear himself and is only issuing threats in efforts to get Uhuru's attention for dialogue," said Omar.Omar claimed that NASA has run out of political ideas and is using threats to remain politically relevant. He asked Raila to give up on politics, arguing that his ambition for presidency will never come true.On Tuesday, Raila announced that he will be sworn-in as president by the people's assembly on December 12, 2017.
