Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has said he is not interested in NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga's endorsement to clinch the county's gubernatorial seat.
Speaking in Changamwe, the lawmaker took a swipe on Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho's antics of posing for photos with NASA principals, with hope of getting reelected.
"I am here to strengthen Nasa's perspective. He (Mr Joho) has failed to deliver for the county of Mombasa. I do not need to be going round with my principals," he said.
"I do not need endorsement of the Kamba or Luo communities because I know I am in their souls. I don't need their endorsement. I want you to elect Raila and Kalonzo," he added.
He further urged the locals to vote out governor Joho, accusing him of derailing Mombasa's development.
"Nairobi and Mombasa are among the worst rated counties in Nasa’s manifesto and that is why I am telling the Nasa principals that you cannot change Mombasa without changing Hassan Joho," he said.
