Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan has bashed the Jubilee administration of not providing Kenyans with basic needs saying the mega-projects do not necessarily help to solve the plight of poor Kenyans.
Omar who was speaking during an interview with NTV's AMLive show Monday said the government, for instance, should have first improved housing for the poor Kenyans before providing them with electricity.
"What we should ask ourselves is that are our children getting the best education, are we having up to date housing systems with water and electricity," he said.
"This bragging I am hearing from the government that households are connected to the national grid in mad and grass thatched houses. Are they happy with the quality of the houses? I think they should restore human dignity in the housing first," he added.
The Mombasa County governor hopeful asked Kenyans to stop electing leaders on the basis of their tribes and instead choose leaders with integrity to help solve their problems.
"Kenyans should start internalising issues so that they can start to realise that the choices they make based on tribe and other incompetence factors will not translate to a better life for them. So it is important to internalise and ensure that this freedom our forefathers fought for is defended by Kenyans," he said.
