Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has exuded confidence that Senator Hassan Omar will send Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho packing in the August 8 polls.According to Kalonzo, Omar is energetic, young and has an agenda for Mombasa people hence stands a huge chance of unseating Joho.Kalonzo said he is ready to campaign for Omar who he said will be handed a direct nomination for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat since his competitor Nyali MP Hezron Awiti ditched the party. The Wiper leader said Omar is a good articulator of issues and is best suited to be Mombasa’s next governor.“Raila Odinga will campaign for Joho and I will do the same for Omar and the people will elect their choice,” he added.Kalonzo said that Awiti’s decision to ditch the party will have no impact on Coast votes. He said Wiper remains strong and will clinch all seats in the August 8 polls.Kalonzo said the party will field candidates for all seats at the Coast, and dismissed assertions that Coast is an ODM zone adding that Wiper too has a share of popularity in the region. At the same time, Kalonzo said Joho is greatly befitting from the altercations he is having with the Jubilee government.“Jubilee is making Joho a hero by thinking that it is intimidating and frustrating him,” he said.Kalonzo asked Joho to utilize the fame Jubilee is giving but expect a tough battle in the Mombasa governor race.
