The Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) will field its own candidates countrywide contrary to speculation that they may consider supporting other candidates from the Cord coalition in which its an affiliate.
This is according to the party secretary general Hassan Omar who revealed Wednesday that Wiper would nominate candidates for all elective positions whether the area is its stronghold or not.
He added that the notion of the coalition fronting one candidate in areas they may be enjoying popularity was ill-advised and ineffective.
"There is no point of the coalition fronting a single candidate in an area where they have huge following. If that is to be the case then where is the difference between us and the Jubilee party which is a single outfit," he told Radio Jambo.
The Mombasa senator who has since declared his interest in the county's gubernatorial position currently held by ODM's Hassan Joho further claimed that he would gun for the post on Wiper ticket.
