Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has asked NASA leader Raila Odinga to quit active politics, arguing that the opposition leader is no longer relevant.

Speaking to journalists outside the Mombasa Law Courts on Monday, Omar said Raila no longer has a political impact.

He said it is time for the former Prime Minister (PM) to live politics to youngsters who have a visionary agenda for the country.

Omar said Raila's political end was sealed in the October 26 repeat presidential poll that he boycotted.

The Jubilee politician said Raila is finding it hard to recover after the political blunder he committed by withdrawing from the repeat poll.

"Raila has no option but to quit active politics, his politics is no longer being felt,” said Omar.

Omar accused the NASA leader of allegedly using violence, threats and intimidation to remain relevant.

He said Raila's push for economic boycott and formation of people's assembly are tactics to undermine the Jubilee leadership.

He asked NASA politicians to accept that Uhuru Kenyatta is the elected president.

Omar who resigned as Wiper party secretary general and quit the opposition after the August 8 general election exuded confidence that Uhuru will deliver on his second term.

The former senator who unsuccessfully contested for the Mombasa governor seat in the August 8 polls asked Kenyans to ignore the opposition and support Uhuru's development agenda.

Uhuru will be sworn-in for his second term today (Tuesday) at the Kasarani stadium.

The opposition has however maintained that it does not recognise Uhuru’s presidency.

NASA has planned for a parallel rally at Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi East Constituency.
