Human Rights and Constitutional activist Okiya Omtatah has rubbished claims that he is working for the National Super Alliance (NASA).Speaking during an interview on NTV on Sunday, the activist said that he does not have networks with Raila.Omtatah said that his conviction to file petitions in defense of the constitution and human rights in court is often in the interest of Kenyans and not NASA.“I am not employed by NASA or Raila Odinga as many people perceive, I do my work for Kenyans,” he said during the interview.Omtatah is known within the corridors of justice and has often filed petitions and applications in defense of the constitution.The activists who unsuccessfully contested for the Busia senate seat in the August 8 general election has a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the court to nullify the October 26 repeat poll.Omtatah filed the petition a day after the October 26 repeat poll on grounds that IEBC could not guarantee a credible repeat poll ready to conduct the repeat poll after the commission chairman Wafula Chebukati’s own admission during a press conference on Octobers 18.Omtatah in the petition also claims that IEBC should have canceled the October 26 repeat poll when NASA leader Raila Odinga withdrew from it since Uhuru Kenyatta was his only challenger as per the constitution.
