Omogusii Unity led by Kisii county Senator Chris Obure cannot overpower the current Kisii county governor James Ongwae in the next general election a Kisii based political analyst has said.
Senior lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University Kisii campus Dr Evans Mokua has said that the group did not calculate their moves well hence that landing themselves on a solid rock that they won’t get out easily unless they join Ongwae lead team.
Dr Mokua added that their move was led by their ‘selfishness’ and they failed to consult the people on the ground who have the voice and votes.
“Most of those associated with the unity will lose terribly come 2017 and they will remain in the cold for the next five years after the election if they don’t have plan B,” he added.
The don also said the voting trend in Kisii is changing and the unity movement failed to analyse that before they joined Jubilee Party.
This comes after the ‘Omogusii Unity’ said that they are looking forward to winning the majority seats in Kisii county come 2017.
