Omogusii Unity has been accused of having self-interest instead of looking on how they can improve the lives of the residents who are living in poverty.
Speaking on a local TV programme (K24) on Tuesday morning, South Mugirango parliamentary aspirant Sylvanus Osoro said that the locals have been in the past been betrayed by some of the leaders who now champion the unity and said that they won’t help the residents even if they were voted into power come 2017.
Osoro said that most of those supporting the unity have failed to deliver and have been involved in key scandals and they need to clear their names first before running for any top office.
“Personally I have been an activist and lawyer and I know the better leaders that can lead the region but the Omogusii unity members do not feature anywhere,” he added.
The hopeful and youthful politicians said that he is looking forward to working with like-minded parties that will bail the Gusii residents out of the current poverty and challenges that they are facing.
He called upon the residents to vote wisely so that the area can be on the level of other regions in terms of development.
