Kitutu North parliamentary seat Hopeful Paul Asuma has said that the most anticipated ‘Omogusii Unity’ may heighten clan hatred among the locals if not well managed.
Speaking at a burial on Tuesday evening at Mosocho, Asuma said the members associated with the movement have a common agenda though their agenda is of self-interest and there was a need to ensure that they include everyone if they want to succeed.
Asuma added that in the recent few months most of the leaders from the region are aligning according to the clan they come from of which is not good in uniting the large community that needs development.
“Let them come clear and ensure they unify all Gusii leaders from the grass root to the top level as that is what we need at the moment,” he added.
He called upon those leaders associated to the unity to ensure that they give the residents their clear agenda so that they can understand who and why they should support the unity.
Asuma regretted that most parts of the Gusiiland have been isolated and called upon the unity leaders to consider working on that.
